GOSSIP ABOUT YOUR GOATS
What's there to say? Let's gossip about goats. Goats are an ever increasing viable market commodity within our Nation. We find that more than 65% of the goat meat consumed in the United States of America is imported rather than being produced. The question is, why is that?
Do people of America have more of a personal attachment to their goats, as pets or as companions to other animals? Are they used for clearing land that would other wise be impossible or too costly to have done? Where is the market goat for the consumer market coming from and how do we develope that to profit in the end?
Regardless of why anyone chooses to raise goats, or what breed of goat they select, personally I find them to be wonderful animals. I think everyone should raise them for whatever reason they have.
What it comes down to is after anyone makes the choise to purchase goats, they still have to be fed or be provided a place to survive. They must be taken care of, regardless of if it is labor intensive or the type of care that is bi-yearly or even on a yearly basis.
The intention of this site is not to tell you what you "have to do" with your goat(s). It is only a place for a source of information, "all goat". The one message that is suggested strongly, is that regardless of what you read here, or ask from another person, you may contact from this site, we recommend professional advice from a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, above all else.
And in saying that, it is only said due to the fact that this is an informational site and will not be held liable for the choices you make when it comes to caring for your goat(s), or for not caring for them. That will be a choice and left up to the reader.
Since some information written and posted is donated by other people in the industry, it is only provided as informational reading. They are experiences that other individuals have had and they are sharing. They are only suggestions. At times it is hard to diagnose what a goat has and it can become a process of elimination to discover what they are suffering from.
If you have any questions, or concerns, please let me know
We would like ot feature a breeder or goat owner every week, or at least every month, here. Once we get the site up and going, we'll have a better idea of how often we will change that featured producer. We will use the links we have from the people that sent links before the site was up. Thanks for partcipating.
