Here are the photos of the new kids on the block.

This is a black headed doeling.

She will have % papers, since the doe she is out of is not registered.

This is her brother, out of the same doe.

He will become a wether.

This black headed doeling will have percentage papers, since I do not have any papers for the doe she is out of.
She is about 75% boer cross.  I have not decided if I will keep her.  It just depends on how many kids I have this year and what I need to buy my bigger show does later on.
But I will keep an eye on her and keep everyone posted as she grows out.
Black headed does are flashy.

He was born on Martin Luther King's birthday.

So I named him Martin Luther King. I call him Martin for short.

Last year at the OMGA sale in December, I saw a black wether for the first time.  He was not really built well, but was very attractive because he was black.  Although he had one white spot on his side.  A young girl's Daddy bought him, and I think he paid about $250.00, if I remember correctly.  If anyone knows different, please let me know.  But that is the best I can remember.  Anyway, he was attractive.
My Mother took me to  show in Cleburne, Texas, and although it was an ABGA sanctioned show, they had a youth class on Decmeber 17th, 2006 and showed market animals.  They could be does or wethers, but had to be clipped as a market animal.
One girl had two wethers to show and needed some help because they were both in the same weight class.  Her Mom asked me if I would show one, and I just jumped on it, cause the one she wanted me to show was solid black.  He was so cool looking.
I told my mother that I would love to have a solid black wether to show the next year.
Since I have a small commercial herd, and have two black does, one is a nubian and the other is a boer cross, I just kept my fingers crossed that I would have a buck kid so I could have a black wether to show.
Well, I wasn't disappointed.  My nubian doe had a black boy on Martin Luther King's birthday.  So I named him Martin.
The solid black boer cross doe, I have had twins, well, she had two kids.  One is solid black and the other is solid red.
The buck I have on the commercial goats is a pureblood solid red buck.  So I have lots of colored babies every year.

This black buck kid is built different then Martin

So I figure I will show them both, unless someone wants to buy them.

Later on in the year, I will be selling the kids that I do not plan to show.  If you are interested in any of the buck kids, please let me know.
We do wether all of the males.  The doelings will have 50% - percentage papers.  Some will have a little higher percentage if the doe has registration papers too.
I usually sell all of my kids from the herd every year.

I am not sure if I can call these two twins.

They are full brothers and out of the same doe, but what's different?

He has the cutest puffy cheeks.

Who says pets don't look like their owners?

Here are the other two from the triplets.

This is one of the triplets that Deer had.  He is a light red.  The doeling is a strawberry red with a white blaze, and then there is the creamy boy.  I have not named them yet.
We were surprised she had triplets.
Last year Deer had two palomino colored babies, a doe and a buck kid.  The buck kid was wethered, and I showed him at the county fair.  I sold the doe kid.  They were unusually colored, but made some great goats.
