Boer meat goats are my favorite to show.
I am a member of the Junior ABGA, the Junior IBGA and the Oklahoma Youth Meat Goat Association, (OYMGA).
I enjoy showing at the breed shows and the meat goat shows.
Generally there is a bit of controversey over the meat goat shows and the breed goat shows and what the judges
are looking for.
I think judges look for what they believe is the best and most ideal form of the boer or boer percentage
goat.
I know what I like and I just have to find a judge that likes the same thing I do, so I can win, place
or show!
If one judge doesn't care for the type of meat goats I like, there is another judge that will.
I have certain expectations from judges, and that is fairness, across the board. I never mind being
beat by good goats. Even I can recognize them in a ring when they are lined up.
Congratulating the winner is an important part of showing. Always shake the judges hand, no matter
where you place. His time is deserving of the appreciation you can give him too.
